One Year Post-Helene: A Picture of Generosity

This week marks one year since Hurricane Helene’s unprecedented destruction of our local communities. While this disaster caused widespread devastation, it also brought our communities together in new and unexpected ways. As a committed partner in generosity throughout Holston, the Holston Foundation provided over $50,000 to support community repair and aid in the completion of more than 11 projects. Here are some ways the Holston Foundation responded through sponsorship and assistance:
- Camp Dickenson cleanup and rebuilding
- One new build home toward Appalachian Service Project’s commitment to building or repairing 200 houses
- Appalachian Service Project’s Race to Build event
- Mission trip support to aid with recovery and restoration efforts
- Support of several relief and resource distribution sites for hot nutritious meals, hygiene products, laundry detergent, clothing, baby supplies, and more.
The Holston Foundation is committed to walking alongside community partners as we continue to rebuild and support our community.
